My life so far has been varied, adventurous and enriching. School and my work in diplomacy, international trade and as a Director of international student exchange, have taken me to 173 countries. I attended school in seven of those (excluding my summer on a Kibbutz in Israel, and cultural trips in other parts of the Middle East). I have worked in both the private and public sectors.
● Director of International Students Exchange for students from 42 countries.
● Have extensive legislative and policy experiece. Part of which I gained helping write policies and procedures for the Ontario Human Rights Commission; the Office of a Governor,
and the Office of a Mayor.
● Actively involve in the education of many children: including after school activities.
● Serve(d) on boards.
● Volunteer for many causes.
● Voracious reader.
● Avid gardener.

I am a community builder. My education includes an Undergraduate Degree in Political Science from York University, and a Masters Degree in International Politics from the United States of America (USA). I have worked extensively on election campaigns at different levels of government in both Canada and the USA. My varied experience includes working in the Office of a Governor, Offce of a Mayor, Department of State amongst others. Along with my experience in education, my varied career, includes international trade, human rights, and economic development. As a member of an Education Advisory Committee, we consulted with stakeholders (including students, parents and community organizations), we wrote and reviewed education policies, made recommendations, and wrote Strategic Plans for the education system.
My work at the Ontario Human Rights Commission gave me a deep appreciation of the heroic people who serve(d) in their communities across this great country of ours. This is one of my motivations for mentoring, tutoring, and nurturing the young minds around me, and why I encourage every one of us to serve our communities in whatever capacity we can. My friends call me a Citizen of the World, not only because I have been to 173 countries, but also, because of my love of people and cultures from around the World. Part of the credit has to go to my great-grandparents, grandparents, and parents of diverse backgrounds, and the role they played in interesting me in the wider World. Through my extensive travels, I gained an even deeper appreciation, love, and understanding of people, cultures and traditions around the world, many of which are represented here in Ward 8.
I believe in the power of listening to the people who elect politicians. This community speaks loudly and clearly, identifying issues and offering solutions. By listening carefully, I will connect the best ideas with available resources, so together we can craft innovative strategies and inclusive policies for our communities.
Our city will benefit from a strong working relationship between the TDSB, schools, parents, and other community members. I am running for Trustee for Ward 8 with support from members of the community who are asking for better consultation, a chance to be heard, and more consideration for what is happening in their local schools. I know that I can be their ears and the catalyst to facilitate the necessary changes. My life experience has equipped me to serve our community at this level, and prepared me to be the next Toronto District School Board Trustee for Ward 8. I hope I can count on your vote to make this a reality. My constant endeavour will be to work everyday to honour that trust. Thank you for your consideration.
